The nights are drawing in, BBQs are being put back into garden sheds, winter bikes dusted off and the imminent arrival of X Factor are all sure signs that winter and its associated miserableness is fast approaching. FEAR NOT there is some good news! The Thursday swim session in Bolton restarts and both this session and the Monday session are being refreshed.
Following on from feedback from squad members, there are a few changes taking place from September. Firstly, the blocks will change from four weeks to eight weeks. This will ensure better continuity and also reduce the amount of time spent collecting pennies. Also, as most people have completed their A races (with a few noticeable exceptions) the sessions will refocus on technique. During September the swimmers in each of the lanes will have their stroke assessed and be given specific swim drills to focus on over the coming months both in the squad session and also when swimming alone. We will also be carrying out CSS tests and stroke rate ramp tests.
The Monday session is now full but there are a couple of spaces available for the Thursday session. Details of both the Monday and the Thursday squad can be found here
Worried your missing out on some great swim sets? Don’t worry starting from August a selection of the swim sets will be posted here each week for you to download and enjoy.
