Owing to popular demand we are adding two additional weekly swim sessions. These sessions will take pace on a Wednesday evening at Turton Sports Centre, Bolton. Starting Wednesday 14th March.
Whilst each session is suitable for all abilities there will be an emphasis for each session as follows:
Session one: 6.00pm – 6.45pm. This session is aimed at the less experienced swimmer and will combine a mixture of technique work and endurance.
Session two: 6.45pm – 7.30pm. This session is aimed at the more experienced swimmer and will focus on developing speed and endurance in the water, including open water skills.
Who can attend?
Anyone who wants to improve their swimming, in particular triathletes and open water swimmers. You don’t need to be a member of Peak XV, in fact we have many swimmers attending our sessions who are members of local clubs including: Bolton Tri, Team Deane, Tri Rivington and Lostock AC.
We have no membership or joining fee and you won’t be asked to become part of a committee! We attempt to create an informal, non cliquey, friendly and supportive atmosphere, however don’t be fooled, the sessions themselves will both challenge and push even the most accomplished swimmer. Everyone is welcome!
We limit the number of swimmers so that there is never more than four in each lane.
Who will be coaching the session?
The sessions will be coached by two highly experienced coaches. The Head Coach for the session is a Level 2 Triathlon England Coach, Level 3 Trainee and has completed the Swim Smooth Coach Education Course. He also is a self coached sub hour Ironman PB.
Both coaches recently spent time over in Perth, Australia spending time shadowing and developing their coaching skills with the Swimsmooth Head Coach and our sessions closely follow the Swim Smooth Training Process.
How much are the sessions and when do they start?
The sessions will run initially on a four week cycle. Starting Wednesday March 14th. The first session will be a free taster! After that the cost for the four week block is only £20.00. This includes equipment hire where needed ( fins, paddles, pull buoys, even parachutes )
