How long have you been involved in triathlon?
I completed my first triathlon in 2010, the sprint distance Rossendale Triathlon.
Why did you decide to get a coach?
Having tried (no pun intended) the self training approach, picking and choosing sessions that felt appropriate, with mixed results, I thought I would benefit from a more structured approach. I was also looking for a more varied training program – I tended to stick to what I knew worked?
How did you come to hear about Peak XV Tri Coaching?
I was referred to Garrie by a friend who has used peak XV for a number of years.
How has being coached changed the way you train? Sessions are now more progressive and the feedback I provided determines the next sequence. Training is more varied and allows effective recovery periods. I am much more conscious of completing sessions as prescribed and on time – I’ve typically been more disciplined.
How would you describe the coaching that you have received since joining Peak XV
The coaching was been tailored around initial consultation and then monitored through my feedback. Sessions have been amended or changed completely to focus on a problem or weakness. The swim coaching is noticeably improving results already.
What were your goals for 2017?IM Frankfurt in July, improving swim, bike & run times (so I can spend longer in transition)
